For those who knew Rodney, he was one of the original folks who helped get Mere Mortals started. Unfortunately, due to his battle with pancreatic cancer, he hasn't been able to ride for the past few weeks. He lost his battle with cancer in his sleep on July 15, 2008. He was 59 years old.

He was a great friend who was always providing us with laughs and helped keep everything going last year when I broke my wrist and was out of commission for months. He will be missed.

There will be two small white socks on both new jersey designs and a note in memory of Rodney and we will have a memorial ride on August 16 at the Russian Ridge ride. Please join us if you can.

For those who want to do something for him, I was thinking that next year we can put together Team White Socks for Livestrong Challenge in San Jose or 24 Hours of Cool Mountain Bike race next year.
