Here are the absolute requirements you need to ride with us:
- An understanding that mountain biking can result in injury. Remember, you are taking on a voluntary risk by mountain biking. No one is coercing you into this, and you understand that you can fall and it can be painful.
- A mountain bike - a real mountain bike, not one from Walmart or Target.
- Helmet - to wear on your head, not your handlebars or hydration pack.
- Water - it gets hot, and this applies to requirement #1.
- Appropriate Shoes - strongly related to #1, if you have clipless pedals, bring the right shoes or go home. If you are riding on flats, please wear sneakers or hiking boots.
- A Sense of Humor - Well, yeah, duh :-)
Here are things we strongly recommend you want to take with you:
- Gloves - so your hands won't hurt as much.
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses/Goggles/Eye protection
- Spare tube or two
- Tire levers
- Hand pump or CO2 cartridges
- Chain tool
- A set of metric allen wrenches
- First Aid Kit
- Food
- Identification and health insurance information
- Hydration Pack or saddle bag
Here are things that are optional, but can make your life easier (someone else may have it though):
- Shock pump
- Spoke wrench
- Bugspray
- tecnu, poison oak blocker, etc.
- Emergency cash
- Light jacket
